Dr. Krishnan achieved a double major in Neuroscience and Chemistry at New York University before completing his M.D. and PhD (in Neuroscience) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He went on to pursue adult neurology residency training at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he stayed on for clinical (neurophysiology) and postdoctoral (autism-epilepsy neurobiology) fellowship training. At the Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Krishnan’s clinical interests include the management of epilepsy in patients with comorbid refractory psychiatric illness/neurodevelopmental delay. He supervises the Laboratory of Epilepsy and Emotional Behavior, dedicated to identifying translationally fluid digital neurobehavioral endpoints that can define the determinants of interictal emotional wellbeing in persons with epilepsy. His laboratory has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
